Bounce: Insane in the Brain at Peacock Theatre

Swedish hip-hop dance troupe, Bounce brought their interpretation of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest back to the Peacock Theatre. It was an explosive acrobatic evening.

Ken Kesey’s tale of institutional madness has been adapted for the stage, many times. But never before has it had a soundtrack featuring Missy Elliot and Dizzie Rascal.

Dance company, Bounce, bring their own spin to a hugely successful show that has had previous runs at Peacock Theatre and the Roundhouse.

The Cog team, excitedly waiting for the fun to begin.

An interpretation of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, retold through the medium of contemporary dance, was a difficult sell to some of the team. From the opening scene we were all hooked by the music, the stage-craft and the beauty of movement.

Strobe-lighting punctuated a brilliant scene of bed-hopping, wires facilitated a stunning scene where dancers ran, vertically up the walls, and the tragic ending brought us to the edge of tears – a great show.
