Everyday Cog

Ross joined staff and volunteers from Making Music this afternoon, on their training day at King’s Place. He presented the work we’re doing, for their membership campaign, ahead of the launch in September.

Greg donned this dashing headpiece today to talk through some amends with Hannah from the Commonwealth Foundation. We think it makes him look a lot like a salesman.

Ocky will be pleased, we’ve just received file copies of this visitor leaflet we’ve designed for the Charles Dickens Museum.

Greg’s been casting his eye over our latest piece work for the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

Michael’s in Bournemouth, on holiday. Whilst there he’s popped in to see ex-Cogger, John Burton, and his dog Izzy.

Mike’s been making props this week using foam board and a scalpel. We’re a bit worried he might be getting a bit manic.

Mike’s been working long days and into the nights preparing for a photoshoot on Monday. We’ve kept him going with a constant supply of fresh coffee.

Mike and Annelise have been working at a photoshoot today with photographer Eric Richmond, a makeup artist and a ballerina.

We’ve been to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre to see The Tempest for our monthly Cog Night. Luckily, Nicola predicted correctly and the rain stopped before the performance.

Mike’s working from a new iMac, he’s been trying to put in a CD, we’ve not yet told him there is no CD drive.

We’re as pleased as Punch to have secured a new contract with British Library. Michael, Annelise and Ross have been there for a kick-off meeting.

Michael’s been meeting with (two of) the glamorous women at Design Business Association.

Joe Weaver is on a work placement with us for the next 2 weeks. Michael’s been discussing different printing processes with him and Greg in our creative room.

Our alarm went off at 3am this morning, and at 4am and at 5am (when Michael came in to turn it off). We think this was the cause – a giant moth.

Michael was an hour early for a new client meeting this morning. As a demonstration of how accommodating our clients are, they sat him down with a blueberry muffin and a coffee from their swanky kitchenette, and were happy to start the meeting early.

Our work placement Joe’s been hitting the drawing board for a brief we’ve got him working on. Who needs macs when you have good old fashioned pen and paper?

Annelise is off to the seaside for a packed bank holiday weekend. She’s brought her suitcase to the studio, making us a little envious of her weekend by the sea

We’ve just received copies of the Centurion newspaper we’ve designed for the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s The Rest is Noise season. It’s the 3rd issue we’ve designed and work has already begun on issue 4.

Michael, Mike and Annelise popped into a cafe for a quick debrief, with Michael and Nadine from Tincan, after a presentation meeting with Stars Foundation.

We’re at Bianco 43 in Greenwich, for some authentic Italian pizza, for our monthly Cog lunch. Let’s hope everyone still looks as happy when their food arrives.
