Everyday Cog

Another week and another meeting with Michael and Nadine from Tincan. This time it was chatting about wireframes for Stars Foundation.

It’s Greg’s birthday. Here he is, doing his best caterpillar-cake impression (he’s the one on the bottom right).

A really productive session with Ashley and Jen from Stars Foundation (and Michael and Nadine from Tincan), making decisions and bold choices about what belongs on their website.

We’ve just received our copies of the Cast season brochure, which we designed. Along with the branding, we’ve done our bit to make sure the grand launch event this weekend goes with a bang.

It’s Joe’s last day on placement with us. We’re finding it a little difficult to hide our excitement at the 2 dozen cookies he’s brought in for us.

Ashley from Stars Foundation and Michael and Nadine from Tincan are back in the studio today for another productive meeting and a spot of lunch.

Geordie Dave’s back in the studio for the next few weeks. We’ve already told the milkman to up our milk order while he’s here.

Chris from GenSys, our IT support company, is in the studio today. He’s in our server cupboard making sure everything is shipshape.

We’ve been for a walking tour of London called “Brothels, Bishops and Bards” for our monthly Cog Night. There was not that much talk on brothels, but we were told tales of red hot pokers up bottoms.

Ross is off to Sicily next week but there’s no bikini body diet for him. He’s tucking into a feast of cheesecake.

It may be a bit rainy here in Greenwich but it’s not all gloom. Today we had a view of not one, but two rainbows outside the studio.

Michael’s been running a workshop with our new clients from ERA. Amongst those there were Chief Exec, Helen Nicholson and Chair of the Board, Deborah Annetts.

We have the lovely Emma working with us in the studio this week. She’s made an excellent first impression and showcased her baking skills by bringing us delicious rose flavoured meringues.

Ashley, from Stars Foundation, has been in talking through wireframes and designs with Mike (although, in this photo, she looks like a giant, leaning on our tiny designer).

Dave, from ISM, popped in on his way to a freshers’ fair at Trinity Laban (across the creek from our studio). He brought one of the campaign banners we designed (the rest of the set are in use at fairs across the UK).

Ross is back in the studio after a week away in Sicily. He’s already fully back into the swing of things, donning his headset to run through some client amends.

Michael and Ross are at a Typographic Circle talk by Vince Frost. They met up with Joe Weaver (a recent student placement) in the swanky offices of JWT.

As research for a project we are working on, we’ve got a selection of magazines in the studio. Ocky headed straight for the copy of ‘Woman’ magazine.

It’s day one of AGI-Open conference. We’re there, in force, looking awesome and modelling our tote bags.

Michael, Mike, Ross and Greg are still at AGI Open, hearing talks from the great and the good of the design world. Here are the London organising committee, led by Tony Brook (Spin).

Michael’s reading an article in The Stage, which he’s written, about the naming of venues and how we came up with the name ‘Cast’ for the Doncaster’s newest performance venue.
