We’re next to Greenwich train and DLR station. We have a door right on the concourse but it’s different to our postal address.

Cog Christmas 2013

Cog Christmas 2013

It’s always quite odd, choosing from a menu for a meal you’re not going to have for over a month, but as with most set Christmas menus, that is what we did, in November.
And so the Christmas talk began…

Secret Santa presents under the tree we began our night with a few beers and opening of gifts, with the usual speculation of who got who, everyone was in a jolly mood.

We’d held a team competition over the past month, to see who could take the best photo of the day. With everyone in the team taking photos and getting involved it was decided that everyone was a winner, with Ross winning the prize for most enthusiastic, (much to Ocky’s dismay).

Feeling relaxed and merry, we pulled our crackers, told the dreadful jokes, and shared our best anecdotes.

Prizes handed out, we made our way to the restaurant joined by Elke and Katy, who have worked with us throughout the year and Joe and Emily, who came to Cog on work placements over the summer.

We went to The Guildford Arms in Greenwich, some of us had been there before, for our Cog 21st Anniversary meal, but for those who hadn’t, I think they were a little surprised that the hidden pub on a little side street provided such a nice atmosphere and fine dining.

The restaurant was festively kitted out with baubles and the like. Our meals were all delicious, but most importantly, the company was great. Feeling relaxed and merry, we pulled our crackers, told the dreadful jokes, and shared our best anecdotes.

The evening was a wonderful start to the festive season, and feeling happy and plumped, we raised our glasses to the past year’s successes and to even more success in 2014.
