Everyday Cog

Mike and Ocky have been to the DBA’s 25th Anniversary celebrations at the Heron Tower. Before edging back over to the canapés they stopped for a chat and a photo with Natalie, the DBA’s Communication Director.

Ocky is going some final checks for a project we are working on with Dulwich Picture Gallery.

We have received a delivery of tear resistant paper from Antalis McNaughton. John, Ocky and Michael are trying their very best to tear it, but it’s holding strong.

Michael’s at a planning and development seminar with our clients The Commonwealth Foundation, at the Royal Over-Seas League.

Michael’s been to Doncaster to discuss a branding project. The weather, trains and battery power of all his electronic devices have not been in his favour, but he had a productive meeting, so it’s not been all bad.

We’ve designed the graphics for the site hoarding at the Charles Dickens Museum. We’re sorry to the tourists, who didn’t realise the museum was closed, they were overheard saying “Look how great this is, just imagine how good it is inside”. We’ll take that as a compliment.

Mike and John are very happy as they make final amends to another Arts Council project we have been working on.

Nicola has been on a training course with the ITC at the Albany, Deptford. They were in the Orange Room, next to the Blue Room, which was filled with actors making strange bellowing sounds.

Michael has been at the AMA conference in Brighton this week, today, in between lectures, he popped into the Harrison & Co studio to have a catch up with Chris and a nosy round.

Mike has been in Canterbury today, at the Beaney, to have final discussions about signing and way finding, before the opening weekend in September.

Ocky and Michael have been to Doncaster to hold a branding workshop for a new venue in the town centre. The participants seemed to have a good time, and Ocky and Michael have come back to the studio full of enthusiasm.

Tonight we had our monthly Cog Night, we went for a ride on the new Emirates Airline and saw London from a new perspective.

From our studio we can see the entrance to Greenwich station, which has been decorated with these equestrian themed pictograms in the build up to the Olympics.

Two more branding workshops in Doncaster today, this time for the Council teams and local creative groups. Great to see so much enthusiasm, particularly from Sue Wilson when comparing the old venue to a clunky old brick-phone.

We’ve been working on some great branding projects, so we’ve got a new book for the studio, we thought it could give us some inspiration.

A wonderful warm day in Greenwich today, we’re fully prepared and keeping cool.

Just 3 days to go until the Olympics and we are seeing lots of new signage cropping up around Greenwich.

Today, Michael and John have been holding a branding workshop, this time at the Commonweath Foundation. Another really positive workshop with great participants.

We seem to have lost our C, It has disappeared overnight without a trace.

The Olympics are here, the opening ceremony is just a few hours away and there are scores of volunteers outside the Cog studio. We were lucky enough, as we watched them out of our window, to be given a special dance by one volunteer and blown a kiss by another.

Mike and Michael have been to the Beaney today. Mike is looking at a display of doll’s house furniture, which has been put together from a variety of collections to create this striking display.
